Arcade Fire, U2, Metallica confirm 2013 album releases Arcade Fire will release their fourth album in 2013, it has been confirmed today, alongside a host of other huge albums due from record label Mercury The fourth album from the Canadian band would be the follow-up to 2010’s critically acclaimed ‘The Suburbs’ and is confirmed for a 2013 release. This will be Arcade Fire’s first release since their song for ‘The Hunger Games’ soundtrack. The track ‘Abraham’s Daughter’ was written specifically for the film, with frontman Win Butler telling Entertainment Weekly: “Our whole approach was to get into the world and try to create something that serves the story and the film. There's something in the story of Abraham and Isaac that I think resonates with the themes in the film, like sacrificing children. So we made a weird, alternate-universe version of that.” Mercury Records also confirmed new albums from Metallica, U2 and Noah and the Whale, which will all contribute towards a good year for the record label. UK label president Jason Iley said: "2013 could be one of the best years Mercury's ever had."
